The house of, or rather of what once was, the López family : Emerald, Apollo, Lysa and Lyra. In its day, it was quite spectatular, grand, whatever you want to call it. Since the girls' 'defection', as their parents called it, the house has become empty and silent, with the girls each leaving for their separate dwellings, and their parents passing away, nothing more than a whisper disturbs the halls.
"Oh you have your mind made up do you?" She mocked. "I can't believe that you would make a stupid decision like this and put the rest of us in jeopardy - and for what?" She shoved Lyra angrily. "What do you think you'll get out of this?!" She yelled shoving her again. "You are supposed to side with me Lyra, your supposed to be my sister. What are we if you join them - and I join the Council."
"You know what they say about the Council,Lysa- I simply don't trust them. We have separate minds, and now it seems, different ideas, and we should both accept the paths the other is taking..." She sighed, still calm. "Lysa, this is what I want- and you have to support me, even if it is not what you would choose to do."
"Oh and you can trust Optivus?!" She stayed silent trying not to get too angry. "If you do this. If you finally decided to separate from me like this ... by joining Optivus. The Council is going to send me after you. And not just because of who we are. I am joining their Leopard Program. I am 'exactly what they are looking for', to quote them. You were supposed to come with me, We could do so much damage together Lyra. Think about it?" She hoped she could persuade her and was going to try knowing in her heart there was nothing more to be said.
She was almost crying. She couldn't back down- she had to go, and in her heart she was sure Lysa knew it. "Lysa...for now, I am following my heart and going...maybe I'll change, and we'll see each other again. I've heard about Council Housing- it's my job to go, I know it. If they do, and you find me, maybe it'll be a good thing for the both of us. Really, I have to."
"A good thing? How is it possibly a good thing if they want me to treat you like a criminal? If they expect me to use deadly force? Am I supposed to hesitate and let someone else take you down? What are you gonna do when I am the one the find you all and they want you to kill me?" She asked with tears building, she didn't want to think like that. This conversation was real now, and she had to.
"I hate to burst your bubble little sister but it wouldn't end that way." She is deathly serious now, no tears just pure honest truth. "I am not going to let anyone else tell me if or when you are supposed to die. If that is for me to make happen, I will see to something like that when I am good and ready to." She paused never realising she felt that way until saying it.
She stood there watching, giving a small wave back. There was nothing else to say, and absolutely nothing could be done, not right now, not yet. She very slowly started to sob when Lyra disappeared from sight.
